The Beyondness of Things

这专辑有说是一部被拒的配乐。不过官方的说法是，John Barry从这张专辑起，将会发行一系列的“概念唱片”，使用电影配乐的手法作曲，但是将不归属于任何一部电影。官方把这部配乐归为后期管弦风格，但是我认为这张专辑正是一张典型的爵士管弦一体化专辑。比如，02. Kissably Close，在单独听这首曲子的时候，我相信80%的人会认为这是爵士乐。漫不经心弹奏的钢琴，带着浓郁风味的口琴，散漫的悠闲气氛。再听听05.A Childhood Memory，标准的“走出非洲”。然后你一回头，05&02，氛围何其的相似。你就会惊讶，爵士与管弦这种分类确实太武断了。它们分明就是一体的。
