The Wilkinsons present their third single Papa Come Quick from the Home album. A fresh new approach to the Bonnie Raitt classic which really gives you that summer feeling. The Wilkinsons understood that blood ties and harmonies are thicker and richer than all profitability studies relating to the music business. Their music not only captivates the listener, but also shows that there can also be peace and security over the course of life. Already since the release of the single, the song has risen to number 5 in the European Hot Disc Country Charts and the accompanying video is shown on many European music TV channels.

On their second album, this Canadian family trio (teenaged brother and sister Amanda and Tyler and their 44-year-old dad Steve) attempt to break some new and mature musical ground while still dancing with the sort of mawkish teen-puppy tunes that brought them this far. Wholesome and utterly charming doodles like "Jimmy's Got a Girlfriend," "It Was Only a Kiss," "1999," and "Don't Look at Me Like That" are little more than energetic and ephemeral odes to underage broken hearts. Yet Amanda and Tyler both show individual flashes of vocal maturity and conviction on songs like the beautiful "Shame on Me" and a deeply felt coming-of-age ballad called "The Only Rose." On the strength of these two songs alone, the Wilkinsons' musical gifts seem destined to continue to blossom and serve them well--that is, if they manage to survive all the teen crushes and adolescent angst they sing so convincingly about here.

Greatest Hits ... And Then Some

Beneath the slick production and saccharine songwriting that dominate Nothing But Love lies the unmistakable talent of two gifted siblings, who imbue even the most insipid material with sincerity. Sixteen-year-old Amanda sweetly nails the tear-jerking mother-and-daughter ballad "26 Cents" and wrings real emotion out of the corny forbidden-love saga of "Williamstown," although she's poorly served by the forced twang of "Back on My Feet." Younger brother Tyler, a mere 14, adeptly delivers the countrified puppy love of "Don't I Have a Heart" and the vaguely ‘80s-sounding reverb-filled rocker "Then There's You." Father Steve rounds out the trio, chipping in on the ubiquitous, tightly meshed harmonies and co-writing (with help from Music City pros) most of this debut's 11 songs. If the Wilkinson kids escape the Nashville studio knob-twirlers and put their limber voices in the hands of more-sophisticated songwriters, their next CD could be as remarkable as this one is bland.

Functioning families are something of a rarity these days and to see one that puts together solid lyrics, vocals, and tight harmonies may be even rarer still. The Wilkinsons understood that blood ties and blood harmonies are thicker and richer than any amount of record business calculation. Their music not only captivates but shows there can be a sense of peace and security with way life evolves. "Home" is the 5th studio album of The Wilkinsons, The first single ist "Fast Car" (written by Tracy Chapman).
