Kayo Dot专辑介绍：Coffins on Io is the upcoming seventh album by avant-garde metal band Kayo Dot, due for release on October 16, 2014 through experimental metal label The Flenser. It will be the first album from Kayo Dot to not be self-released since 2010's Coyote. Coffins on Io is widely rumored to be a drastic change in sound for Kayo Dot, leaning more on electronic and heavily influenced by dark wave. Frontman Toby Driver said, "The sound is kind of like a sexy combination of Type O Negative, Peter Gabriel, Sisters of Mercy,”. But the track also encompasses the brooding menace of classic Bauhaus as well as current dark wavers Cold Cave and Crystal Stilts: artists young and old who live and die in those unknowable corners where heaviness meets delicacy and sincerity meets theatricality." In addition, on the band's official website, the album is inspired by 80s future retro-noir," and that the album has an emphasis on vocal melody and electronic percussion, both drastic changes for the band.
