繼Haysen鄭景曦 新專輯第一支先行曲《風繼續吹》收穫諸多好評後，第二支先行單曲《淚雨夜》也如約而至。對於過去多以駕馭説唱為主的Haysen來説，這首粵語抒情歌不僅是對鎏金時代流行曲風的追溯，也是他作為香港唱作新星對粵語情歌所展露出的真摯與新鮮詮釋。
創作靈感來自00 年代的香港電影與流行歌曲，《淚雨夜》的故事源於主人公真實的感情生活——陷入失戀與懷念怪圈的他，在詞曲中袒露着對舊戀人的放不下，和對自己脆弱一面的釋放。
編曲以充滿畫面感的鋼琴，管絃和海浪聲展開，鋪墊抒情懷舊的思緒；後半部分的電吉他亦交織着苦樂參半的人聲敍事。對於個人經歷豐富的Haysen來説，那些在説唱中無法向過去愛人表達的感受和思念，卻可以在這裏像書寫一封信一般，自由流淌。
影像方面，歌曲MV由香港本地知名導演團隊 Wavyboys 操刀製作。團隊赴港島上長沙海灘拍攝取景，浮動的海浪就像詞中徹夜未眠的淚，輕柔冰冷地包裹着他的軀體；油畫質感的簡約影像風格，亦細膩呼應着 Haysen在曲中每一頻的呼吸與告白。
After the much praised first single ("The Wind Blows On") from his upcoming album, Haysen is back with a heartfelt Cantonese ballad, "A Night of Raining Tears". Known for his sharp rap delivery, the Hong Kong-born artist took a vulnerable, tender step toward reclaiming his roots in Cantonese melodies, showcasing a hidden side of him that’s more intimate and raw.
The inspiration for "A Night of Raining Tears" comes straight from the soul of early 2000s Hong Kong cinema and pop songs—a time when music and film were deeply intertwined. The track is steeped in the story of a protagonist wrestling with the weight of a broken heart. It’s a journey through the painful nostalgia of lost love, where the artist opens up about the emotional wreckage of letting go and confronting his own vulnerability.
The arrangement kicks off with a cinematic piano, sweeping strings, and the sound of crashing waves—setting the tone for a poignant, bittersweet reflection. As the song progresses, the electric guitar weaves through the emotional turmoil, giving voice to the tenderness in Haysen’s delivery. For an artist whose previous music rarely leaves room for this much vulnerability, the ballad creates a space where he pours out the unsaid, like writing a letter to an old flame.
The music video, directed by the acclaimed Hong Kong collective Wavyboys, delicately captures this emotional landscape. Shot on the serene Upper Changsha Beach, the imagery of the waves—echoing the tears in the lyrics—wraps around Haysen, creating a visual that mirrors the gentle, yet sorrowful cadence of his voice. The minimalist, oil-painting-like aesthetic of the video gently amplifies the rawness of the track, with each frame capturing the weight of every breath and confession.
