這張專輯的名稱是NOFX文字遊戲的開始，因爲Liberal Animation就是Animal Liberation（解放動物）。這也是NOFX在朋克名廠Epitaph旗下發表的首張專輯，製作人是著名Hardcore樂隊Bad Religion的吉他手Brett Gurewitz，同時他也是Epitaph的老闆。NOFX與Brett Gurewitz在1988年的夏天只花了3天的時間就錄完了這張Liberal Animation，之後NOFX就與Epitaph簽署了唱片合同。誰知道他們合作的開始竟然如此失
