Lebo Mathosa was a popular South African Kwaito singer who was born in July 1977 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Lebo Mathosa was born in Daveyton, which is a small town just outside Benoni. Later Lebo and her family went on to shift at Johannesburg where Lebo did her schooling at St. Mary's High School. Lebo's singing career began when she was just seven years old. She used to sing in the local church choir. Lebo discovered bubblegum music when her family moved to Johannesburg, which is a sort of disco-infused pop that was ordinarily played by personalities like Brenda Fassie. Mathosa began her career by being part of the successful South African band Boom Shaka in 1994 when she was just 17 years old. Currently, there are only a few successful female Kwaito artists in the industry as the industry is dominated by males and Lebo is one of the females who are successful in the industry. Mathosa died when she was just 29 in a car crash accident as her driver lost his control on the car when they were traveling on the N3 Highway on the East Rand. That day her fans, followers, and the industry felt unfortunate and sad as they lost one of the charming and successful artists of the kwaito industry.
