Famous African gospel singer Zaza Mokhethi was born in Kwa-Thema, Springs, South Africa. Her name is the fastest-growing household name in South Africa. The famous performer can sing in different languages and styles. Her interest in music arose at the age of 3. At the age of 19, she did background vocals for many famous gospel singers like Vicky Vilikazi, Keke, Rebecca Malope, etc. Zaza is very versatile and highly skilled in her field. Her presence on stage spellbound its audience with harmonic bliss. With her performance in the Netherlands, Paris and London during shows Afrika-Afrika and African Mamas, she left her audience mesmerized. Music was never a career choice for her. She always wanted to study biochemistry but eventually landed in the music industry. Career, Achievements and Awards After working as a backing vocalist for many gospel artists she worked with musical theatre African Mama giving many international stage performances across the border. Later she joined Joyous Celebration-The gospel choir after returning from Mzansi in 2007. Zaza then went on to release her solo debut Umoya Oyingcwele in 2010. Thank you was released in 2012 following Imvuselelo after two years. Jezebel, Calvary and Zonk’izono are famous South African Favourites. Her albums Praise 4 and 5 and Woman in Praise were the biggest hits. She received a nomination in the category of Artist Of Excellence for an African Gospel Music and Media awards 2018 UK with many other famous stars. In 2010, Her solo single “Umoya Oyingcwele” which became a huge hit was also nominated as a Best song of the year in Crown Awards.
