The Hosts

Introducing The Hosts. Expect traces of Roy Orbison, Jonathan Fire Eater, The Beachboys, Phil Spector and The Velvet Underground from this band dressed in black. Receiving their first radio plays in the UK with BBC Radio 1, 6 Music and XFM followed by back to back tours with The Walkmen (US), Cold War Kids (US) and Paul Weller. The Weller shows were his first ever in sold out arena's which then finished with 3 sold out Brixton Academy dates.   The Hosts also played numerous one off shows with Richard Hawley and Cherry Ghost as well as appearing at the Barclays Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, Dot to Dot Festival, Belladrum Festival and the huge CMJ Festival in New York; from which they received their first US radio plays with the notorious Denis The Menace being the first to play the band on KUST San Francisco, closely followed by John Richards cult show on KEXP Seattle.   The band have just finished off their debut record with production from Mercury Music Prize and Brit Award nominee, the fantastic, Mr Richard Hawley.   (wiki)   Influences: Jonathan Fire* Eater, Johnny Cash, The Velvet Underground, Television Current Location: Sheffield   (Facebook)
