Lea Salonga

Lea Salonga-Chien (born Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga on February 22, 1971 in Manila) is a Tony Award-winning Filipino singer and actress who is best known for her portrayal of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon. In the field of musical theater, no otherFilipino has achieved the same international recognition as Salonga. She has been the first to win various international awards for a single role.　　She was the first Asian to play Eponine in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway, and is slated to star as Fantine starting March 6, 2007. On February 11, 2007, she is performing at the Philippine International Convention Center with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.　　Lea Salonga，1971年2月22日出生於菲律賓的馬尼拉。她作爲菲律賓歌手和演員，曾經獲得Tony獎。她最爲人樂道的演出是在音樂劇《西貢小姐》中扮演女主角Kim。在歌劇界，沒有其他的菲律賓歌手比她享有更高的國際聲譽。她在《西貢小姐》中的演出爲她贏得很多國際獎項。　　她是第一個在百老匯的音樂劇《Les Misérables》中扮演Eponine這個角色的亞洲人。後來又被安排出演《Les Misérables》中最有悲劇色彩的人物Fantine。2007年的2月11日，她和菲律賓絃樂隊合作，在菲律賓國際會議中心演出。
