Diogo Piçarra

Diogo Piçarra is a Portuguese singer, interpreter, musician, song writer, producer and artist. He was born in Faro, South of Portugal, and began his adventure as a musician at the age of 16, in 2006. After his first guitar lessons, he began to sing for the people around him, and he felt that they liked what they heard. One year later he forms his first band, "Fora da Bóia" and he stands out as not only a good guitar player, but also as a great vocal performer and writer. In the end, they won band contests, they played throughout the country and gain some reputation among the youngest generations. He finally sees that this is what he wants to do for a living, so he starts to sign in for talent shows and castings for musicians, but none of which came out as we was expecting. Four years later, he decides to leave the band to finish his college graduation abroad, in Czech Republic. In 2011, he returns to Portugal as a reborn artist but this time he decides that he'll go for a solo career. So, he starts recording some covers on the Internet and publishing them on Youtube and on many social pages! Invitations start to appear and the audience begins to grow, hence, he decides to try the next edition of Portuguese Pop Idol. After 4 months of auditions, live shows, a lot of practicing and nerve-wrecking moments, he becomes the last Portuguese Pop Idol in 2012! Besides, he got the chance to study in London Music School in London, a car and a contract with the major label Universal Music Portugal. After coming from London in 2013 as the Best Student of The Year, he starts writing and recording his first album, that will be coming soon! Português, natural de Faro, mas com os olhos postos no Mundo, é em 2006 que inicia um percurso que lhe mudaria a vida para sempre. Foi nas suas primeiras aulas de guitarra que começa pela primeira vez a dar voz a todos aqueles que o rodeavam. Um ano depois, ajuda a fundar a banda algarvia "Fora da Bóia", onde não só se destacou como guitarrista da banda, como também pelas suas qualidades vocais e de composição. Tudo era novidade, escrever letras, compor, cantar e tocar ao vivo, gravar em estúdio, concursos e, foi neste ambiente que cresceu como músico, mas também como pessoa, onde desafiou os seus próprios limites e, acima de tudo, encontrou finalmente o seu verdadeiro objectivo em vida. Na procura do reconhecimento, Diogo concorre a várias audições de caça-talentos, nomeadamente TVI em 2008, Ídolos 2009, Operação Triunfo 2010, contudo, sem resultados positivos. Após 4 anos de banda, e de um relativo sucesso regional, Diogo Piçarra abandona o grupo para dar prioridade aos estudos e terminar a licenciatura fora do país, na República Checa.
