Inu is the new project from San Francisco based producer Count [DJ Shadow, New Order, Radiohead, Lyrics Born, Galactic, Halou, etc.], guitarist Tim Hingston [Nyles Lannon], and cellist Zoe Keating [Imogen Heap, Rasputina, Dresden Dolls]. COUNT Originally from Austin, Texas, Count [Mikael Eldridge] has been involved in just about every aspect of the music business. Working through the 90's in San Francisco at various record labels [Polygram, Verve, PopMafia, and Ubiquity], Count acquired a vast knowledge of the music business while continuing work as an engineer, mixer, and producer at the SF's noteworthy recording studio, Toast. In 1999, Count finally left working for record labels in favor of full time production work and to continue to work with his band, Halou. Count has since worked as engineer, mixer, remixer, and producer with a number of noteworthy artists including DJ Shadow, Frank Sinatra, Radiohead, John Cale [Velvet Underground], No Doubt, New Order, RUN DMC, Blackalicious, Lyrics Born, Galactic, and many more [see credits below]. Most recently, Count has been completing new records with Galactic, DJ Shadow, Lyrics Born and doing remixes for Frank Sinatra, Low, and the Bee Gees. Tim Hingston After years of sculpting his array of guitar sounds on the East Coast, Tim came to San Francisco in 2006 to pursue music with an inspired sense of purpose. Soon after arriving, he became a welcome addition to the lineup of the Nyles Lannon band, performing with Nyles at San Francisco's Noise Pop festival, SXSW 2008, and on MTV's 'Ahead of the Curve'. Tim met Count after joining as guitar player for the SF-based Halou, and they quickly realized they could team up on a variety of projects in the studio and beyond. Out of these collaborations, the Inu project was born, and Tim's contributions on guitar and bass permeate the sound. Zoe Keating Zoe Keating is a one-woman orchestra. She uses a cello and a foot-controlled laptop to create beautiful and otherworldly music. Born in Canada and classically trained from the age of eight, Zoe spent her 20's dabbling in computer software while moonlighting as a cellist in rock bands. Inevitably, she combined the two and developed her now signature style while improvising for late night crowds at her San Francisco warehouse. Her self-produced album "One Cello x 16: Natoma", has four times been #1 on the iTunes classical and electronica charts. Zoe has composed and recorded scores for the films "The Devil's Chair", "Ghost Bird", "Diary of A Sex Addict" and "Frozen Angels". She also performed on Mark Isham's score for "The Secret Life of Bees", appeared on Jay Leno with Paolo Nutini and has been on five tours with the Grammy-nominated songstress Imogen Heap. In November 2008 she performed her music live with the Ballet de la Generalitat in Valencia, Spain, and in 2009 she received a grant from the Creative Capital Foundation to create a multimedia cello performance with her partner Jeffrey Rusch. From 2002 to 2006 Zoe was a member of the cello-rock trio Rasputina and she has played cello on the albums of countless artists, including Amanda Palmer, DJ Shadow, and Curt Smith of Tears for Fears. She recently completed a series of commissions for the 75th Anniversary of the San Francisco MOMA in 2010 and is currently working on a new album, and the score to a new ballet.
