作为披头四最年轻的团员，George Harrison总被披头迷唤做“The Quiet Beatle”，然而他的「安静」未必是自愿的－－在Beatles时期，既然已经有了John Lennon和Paul McCartney这对「流行音乐史上最伟大的写歌搭档」主导九成以上的歌曲创作，Harrison能发挥的空间也少得可怜，通常一张专辑只能塞进一两首他的歌，受到的重视也远不如蓝侬／麦卡尼两巨头。但在这样的巨大阴影\罩下，Harrison默默磨练着自己的创作功夫，拼命要写出不输给他们的歌，不知不觉间，他已经成为一个极其优异的创作人，到后来，像While My Guitar Gently Weeps和Something那样的作品，已经成为披头歌曲中的经典，足以跟两位老大哥平起平坐了。

此外，他对印度宗教的热中，替他赢得另一个“The Mystic Beatle”的外号。他替Beatles引进印度乐器和曲式，影响了一整个世代的摇滚乐手，本身更皈依了印度教。这张专辑的标题，便带着浓浓的东方宗教味道，令人联想到「一切有为法，如梦幻泡影」……

Harrison的才华要一直等到Beatles解散，才能完完全全释放出来。All Things Must Pass在1970年推出，离Beatles正式解散没几个月，却着实吓了乐迷一跳：大家心目中「产量稀少」的Harrison，竟然做出了足足三张一套的专辑（两张唱片附赠一张录音间即兴Jamming的实况）。尽管长达八九十分钟，却曲曲扎实、圆满，几乎没有败笔。大家这才知道，长久的压抑下，Harrison积存了多少没发表的好歌，而事实上，All Things Must Pass里的18首歌，只是Harrison手边作品的一小部份而已。
