Steve never ceases to amaze me. He keeps challenging himself; a remarkable musician! He is completely unafraid to take risks. This is his riskiest CD yet, not only because of the title but putting an incredible voice such as Devin's in the spotlight. (Devin is perfect for this CD.) Vai isn't intimidated by anything or anyone. He is number one in my book (as far as musicians and guitarists go!) This is a must hear; and as always a must buy. His lyrics and notes inside the CD again with a collector poster guide the listener into understanding better what Steve is talking about. This is especially true for the instrumental track "The Road to Mt. Calvary." Inside the CD is an amazing poem about the song. All of Steve's lyrics should be published! This CD is in perfect order. Track 1 "Here And Now" to the incredible fina'le "Rescue Me Or Bury Me." All the songs in between are a crescendo of, in my opinion, his own enlightenment. Track 7, infamously perfect, "Touching Tongues" I believe is symbolic of Steve putting his flesh aside in meditation and reaching out to God with his all his soul. God likes that and reveals/enlightens Steve. This album obviously goes deeply into the spiritual realm; especially "Down Deep Into The Pain." You have to read inside the CD, this is a conversation with God (at the end of the song and you will not understand what is being said without owning this to read!) Bottom line, you will either get it or not. I get it and always will with anything Steve touches. Have faith in yourself and go buy this CD. You can understand if you try.
